Easter Day Surprises

Our joyous Easter Day service was full of surprises with a Donald Duck sneezing impersonation, yo yo tricks and pigeon cooing! We also spent time in quiet reflection, great worship and enjoyed His presence. Our morning ended with an Easter egg hunt in the garden and coffee in the bright sunshine.

Community Walk

Our Beacon Heath Community enjoyed a Sunday afternoon leisurely stroll up to the heath, playing in streams, saying hello to alpacas and doing cartwheels! Then it was time for a delicious shared tea in the Alford’s family home. Love spending time together!

Theology Weekend

Some of us have been up in Derby for a @kingstheology study weekend having an awesome time. Bonney, left, is on the mission track whilst Kristina, Karena and Sue are in Year 1 and Rich is tutoring in the mission track. Such a great community for fellowship and learning.

Trusting God

On Sunday we heard two very different stories about trusting God to guide you. Lyn, with husband Alan, accepted God’s call to leave a comfortable life here in Exeter to establish a children’s hospice movement in China.  While Jan told how she felt called to Exeter to study as a nurse, to become a street pastor and to join the Beacon Centre’s admin team. We thank God for Jan and Lyn’s obedience in answering their calling. What’s your calling?

Friday Cafe

We love the Friday Cafe at the Beacon Centre – it’s great fun! Lots of things to do and a great place to make new friends. Pop in and take a look, free coffee, free clothes, free pool, free household bric a brac, limited free supermarket food. Bring your craft/knitting. 10am til 12noon.

New Sewing Group at the Beacon Centre

We popped in and meet this lovely new sewing group running at the Beacon Centre. It’s a brilliant community group run by Our Exeter and the Beacon. It helps people connect with others,  learn new skills and enjoy social sewing.

Meet Jane

Jane has started as the new co-ordinator of Hope at Home.  She’s based at the Beacon Centre and is pictured here with centre manager Kate. This is an exciting new chapter in the life of this vital charity run by Isca Community Enterprises.

Supporting Exeter Foodbank

Here at Isca we’ve keen to support our city foodbank. Our comms leader, Liz Straw, pictured right, has become an Isca Church ambassador for Exeter Foodbank after visiting the St Thomas premises with other church leaders. Liz said: “It was good to meet some of the team and to hear stories of God’s provision of food and how people’s lives are being transformed,” said Liz. “It’s interesting to learn that the Beacon Centre has the most visits from families. This is very much part of our vision here at Isca, to support local families.

Synergy Conference 2025

Loving spending time with our good friends from Hatherleigh, Exmouth and North Devon. We were taking time out from the Synergy Conference 2025 held in Derby – Synergy is a family of churches across the UK. This annual conference is an important milestone in our calendar, a great way to learn, be inspired and enjoy big worship. This year’s theme was Jesus is Lord!

Happy 3rd Birthday to The Hub!

We had a great time celebrating three years of running this youth group which meets weekly (term time) at the Beacon Centre. Big thanks to our fab volunteers who make this happen.
