Isca's History

Jack

In the 1960s a small group of Christians began meeting in the living room of a house. They had experienced something new of the power of the Holy Spirit and were looking to become a church that encouraged a greater freedom of worship and real experience of living together in community and fellowship.

The group grew until the living room was too small and began meeting in a school hall.  Over the years Isca congregations have met in various locations across the city and now currently meet as one congregation in St James' High School.

Isca Church is part of a group of churches that are linked to Salt and Light Ministries and Isca in particular has links with Brazil, France, Romania, Uganda and Buffalo who it supports by visiting, praying and giving.

Isca is a member of the Evangelical Alliance and locally it works with other churches and groups across the city through Christians Together Across Exeter and The Exeter Evangelical Partnership.

We now meet in Missional Community groups and small Discipleship groups, that provide friendship, worship and prayer and the opportunity to use God given gifts within and out in the wider community.
